Product Delivery

The delivery of bio-engineered products to the end-user is an important aspect which has to be considered. Depending on the type of product or crop, there may be a commercial seed distribution system which can be utilized. Alternatively, informal networks may have to be used for situations where there is no return to seed growers. Stimulation of a commercial seed sector by the introduction of bio-engineered varieties will encourage all plant breeding activities.

It is very important that farmers are given not only the choice to use the bio-engineered products, but also the information to understand the benefits and any risks associated with them. Thus the distribution system will have to be backed up with information and education to empower farmers and enable them to get the best use of the improved products.
